Well, I guess it is time I made a real post since moving to AZ. Although I don't have anything about the house or country livin' on here yet. Next time, I hope!
Anyway, we miss our Oklahomies! I also miss the house and my garden there. And fall weather. I love fall. And there isn't much of one here. Sigh . . . Oh, I could go on and on about the things I miss, but we aren't doing too bad here. We have our good days, and our, eh, not so good ones. But things are settling nicely. Homeschool is going well, and I now have 2 students! Lexi and Kenny are doing well in all their subjects, although I never can get rid of that nagging feeling of being supremely unorganized. I think I am in a cycle of perpetual disorganization. Maybe someday I will conquer it, but I'm not holding my breath.
I am currently feeling fine with my Mother-In-Law living with us situation. But I go through phases on that one too.
The water hauling situation is actually not that bad. We have to take about 3 hours every 2 weeks and fill up our big tank by getting three loads of water in our trailer (1 hour for each load). We hook up the pump and the hoses and turn everything on and fill it up! Nothing much to it, actually. Just a couple of days ago we ran out, and that wasn't my favoritest time ever. :/ But it didn't last long, just 5 hours. To give you a good perspective on what it was like, we had to flush the toilet by dumping a bucket of previously used and saved bathwater in the toilet bowl.
We have seen many any interesting critter out here. Scorpions being one of he most interesting, huge spiders being one of the most unwelcome, and bum poking stick bugs being the most humorous. :) We caught a lizard in our house today, and many a toad have graced our hands. One was kind enough to poop on Lexi's! :) We have listened to coyotes sing at night, and I spied a couple of bobcats cross the road. Oh, and a raccoon was ambling around the house a couple of nights ago.
The friend-making process is slow going, but happening. And we have some extended family around that we hang out with. Lexi just got signed up for dance and is set to start ballet on Thursday. She is very excited! I want to put Kenny either in Karate or Tumbling, but he has been very resistant, for some reason. Maybe he will come around.
Oh, and one last thing that makes me inordinately happy? There is a Trader Joe's and Bountiful Baskets here! I so very much LOVE Trader Joe's, and I can't wait to take part in Bountiful Baskets!
Anyway, these pictures are in a very mixed up order. Enjoy!
Still in OK, this is the extent of our Fall experience this year . . .
Sweet sleeping kids.
Kenny has a ridiculously long tongue!
We went to Carlsbad Caverns on the drive to AZ! It was pretty awesome.
When we got here, we stayed in the hotel for a long time.
At least they had a pool/ hot tub!
Our third Saturday here, we decided to go up Mount Graham, and on the way up, we picked apples in an apple orchard. :)
Lexi desperately wants a kitty! She will be getting one for Christmas, I think. :) So cute.
What a beautiful baby boy! Look at those lips.
On Mount Graham there is a lake, a beautiful lake.
When we got home, we warshed the apples, and then we made some apple pies! yummy!
We started homeschool the following Monday, and on Tuesday we had our "school" pictures.
