More Confessions

Here goes . . .

1. I just downed 2 pudding cups.

2. And I have no intention to do any exercise anytime soon.

3. We watched the Barbie as Rapunzel movie today. I loved it. What can I say? It makes me feel all warm and toasty inside. It's a feel good kind of show and it made me feel good. :P

4. I watch Dance Moms and I like it a lot. It's a guilty pleasure.

5. My teeth are yellow. Lexi told me so.

School starts . . .

And I am not ready. I think I am almost avoiding going to bed because school will start sooner (so it seems) the quicker I go to sleep! I was not reassured and completely impressed after going to the Meet the Teacher today. I mean, everything is fine and dandy, but, I dunno. The classroom seemed kinda small, akin to crowded. And their schedule seems a bit too full (with only one recess!!!) for kindergardeners. And I worry that he teacher won't be as loving as I think she should be. I am worried it will be too much for Lexi to handle all at once.

Hmmmm, I just need to give it a chance, and be positive. Lexi is excited about it. Her only reservation is concerning weather or not she will get lost. (She got lost at an amusement park this summer and is having a hard time getting past it. She still talks about it a lot.) We have reassured her over and over again that she will not get lost. But if she does, there are lost of people there who can help her!

So here is the game plan. We give it a good 2 week trial period. We ponder, observe and discuss how we are feeling about everything and go from there. Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. Who know what the future will bring? Maybe we both will love it!

But that doesn't mean I am ready for this . . .

Stochastic Thoughts On My Mind

1. I just learned a new word today. . . can you tell???

2. The power was off for a loooong time (so it seemed). Hallelujah it is back on!!!

3. A/C is good. We like A/C.

4. I have lost a cute little toad in my house. His/her name is Alesha and he/she is brown and bumpy. If you see this toad, send him/her my way please! I have a little 5 year old girl who is going to be really unhappy to find her new pet is gone. :(

5. She will be even more sad if she finds a shriveled up toad a few days later. . .

6. I really like making new friends and building stronger bonds with old ones. As time passes, I realize more and more how important deep, fulfilling relationships and friendships are. A good social network isn't just something people want, it truly is something we all need in order to be healthy individuals. Attaining this network is hard work at times, and, depending on where we are, can sometimes seem impossible. But truly deep and fulfilling friendships can be found wherever we go. Sometimes we just find them in places we never thought to look . . .

7. Speaking of places to look, where am I going to find that TOAD?!?

8. Lexi is starting school next week. Damn, I am not ready for this . . .

9. Kenny is funny. And doesn't take to the whole notion of using the potty consistently very well.

10. Barrett needs to start sleeping better. So that this momma can start sleeping better too.

11. Sleep. I like sleep. Maybe I should go do this thing called "sleep". Oh, wait, I still have to do this, and this and this (find a toad???) and this (tallys fingers) . . . . . Maybe later.

For Grammy and Grampsy Joao

My mom and brand new stepdad went to Ireland on their honeymoon and sent us some goodies they got for us while there. We love them (goodies and Grammy and Gramspy, that is)! And we were supposed to Skype them while we opened the box, but . . . well, Carl posted some furniture on Craigslist in the free section and gave my name and # for people to contact and 5 minutes thereafter all hell broke loose on my phone! I had 12 voicemails, several text messages and my goodness, it was a zoo! "What have you done to me?!?", I half jokingly said to Carl. Next time he can post his name and number, I say! Anyhoo, the package came right when I was in the midst of telling people to come over and take a look and working out details with all the text messages and yada yada yada. At least we got rid of the stuff that night. Within the hour, I think. And so, of course Lexi had torn into the box before I had a chance to even think about Skyping. Mom understands, of course. Here are pictures to make up for the lack of Skyping. And just because we like to take pictures a lot around here! :) :) :)

Barrett was soooo tired in this picture.

Lookin' good!

I love love love this sweatshirt on Kenny! Just my style. :)

All the kids having fun with their loot.

*The onesies are a little small on Barrett, unfortunately.*

Lexi loves her backpack and special pencils. Just in time for school!

Me wearing my necklace and ring. :)

Other random cute pictures.

Lexi made a nest for Barrett and was tickling him. It was very sweet. :)

Barrett was enthralled with these Chinese lanterns.

And this is Barrett's new favorite place to sleep.

He nods off in this special place nearly every day!

P.S. I have been feeling the blogging love lately from my friends and I just wanted to say, Thank You! It was really nice to hear such kind words of encouragment from all of you. :)
