I have been meaning to start making my own bread for a while, but never really got the push/desire to really do it until now. The above book has inspired me a bit, even though I haven't read more than the front and back(so far).

So in my quest to figure out how to make bread and make it well (since most of my attempts have not turned out as well as hoped), I found this awesome website that I am going to share here. I love how the author of this blog has a serious love for making bread and shares her artistic talent and joy-in-baking with us.

Tonight I made Honey Oatmeal Bread, and it sure is yummy! I made one big loaf and Lexi made one little one. :)

It isTime for an . . .

Update! In the form of a real post, (or at least my idea of a real post), that is.

So, going back in time, on the the day before Kenny's B-day, Feb 28th, we went to the Zoo! It was a free day(!) which was fantastic. Highlights were seeing a bunch of Fruit Bats flying all about, a bear scratching his back on a tree, many exotic birds up close and good friends. :)

Next was Kenny's B-day (March 1st), which was lots of fun, albeit crazy. We didn't have a party since Kenny is not good at sharing his toys yet. :) But I made him a Whoopie cake (with Barrett in the sling) which we shared with friends at the park. Highlight of this day: Playing with digger cars in his Raisin Bran cereal, lots of water play (bathtime, water table, stripping down and stting in kitchen sink) and having fun at the park and eating Whoopie Cake!

On Saturday (Mar. 5th) we went to a birthday party at the bowling alley. The kids had a good time, although Kenny had a few majorly grumpy moments since he had just woken up from a much-too-short nap. Lexi was so good at taking turns with the other kids and being kind and considerate. She is so sweet. :) Highlights/stand-outs of this day: Kenny throwing a tantrum because he wanted 2 monster eyes on his cupcake, not 1! Kenny throwing another tantrum because he lost his monster finger puppet party favor (it was found, thank heavens!). Eating awesome Monster cake with blue frosting and Kenny thus growing a blue goatie and Lexi bowling by herself. She did great. :)

On the following Monday we went to the museum on a free day! It was fun and very interesting. Lots of information to take in, and a great kids exploration room. We will definitely be going back frequently since they have free days the first Monday of every month.

Fast forward a week to Monday the 14th which is the day we started Joyschool! I overprepared and didn't do as well as usual. And Barrett started crying and wouldn't stop for about 15 min. at the beginning because Kenny growled really loud right in his face and scared him to death! Poor baby. :( Anyway, the theme was oceans, and it went pretty well, but I hope things go better next time. I hope the kids learned a little bit. :)

Okay, now we are all caught up, here are a plethora of pictures to finish this post up!

I wanted to do a Soda Pop series of photos, and I think they turned out pretty good.

My kids can both touch their noses with their tongues. I am so proud! :D

Oh yes, and Barrett started sitting up around the 5 month mark too!

A Kenny kiss, plus a shovel. (in the background, see?)

The Cuteness and Fatness that is Barrett
(with allergies, unfortunately)

So cute, of course.

Oh, and Happy St. Patty's Day too!

i must confess

I have a guilty pleasure.

Yes. Yes I do.

One which surprises me. But hey, life is full of surprises, eh?

I never thought I would say this because I never thought I would ever actually let me or my daughter watch them, . . . but I, yes, I (a feminist at heart) like several of the Barbie movies! Pheeew. Feels so good to get that off my chest. :) My favorite is Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses. I like it so much, I wouldn't mind owning it for me to watch as much as for Lexi.

And now that I have confessed, if you don't mind, I will get back to watching my movie: Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses.

P.S. A real post is in the works. Coming sometime in the next year . .uh, I mean, week. :)
