Little Butter

We have been making homemade peanut butter these past few days. Being stuck at home due to rain and having 2 large storage size baggies full of peanuts (thanks Mom!) made it all possible. The kids love it! Especially Kenny, whom I am now referring to as Little Butter. To illustrate this, today, after he woke up from his nap, he said, "Buh-der!" in his cute little voice and wriggled around desiring immediate release from my arms. He then scrambled over to the table and started consuming our special peanut butter. Usually he wants me to hold him for a while to "ungroggify" after naps. But he loves that peanut butter so much that he didn't need "Mommy Ungroggifying Time" today! Just "Buh-der!" :)

Lexi likes it too, but she isn't quite as passionate about it as Kenny.

Chowing down!

Digging in.

So cute and handsome and sweet with crazy hair!

These next photos of Lexi are some random cute ones I took last October.

Loves that little Punkin!
Homemade "Touch of Honey" Peanut Butter Recipe: (In case anyone is would like to try it)
1 cup peanuts (with shells and skins removed, of course)
1/4 cup oil (preferrably peanut oil, but I just use regular cooking oil and it works fine)
1/2 tsp salt (I omitted the salt because my peanuts were already salty enough)
1-2 TBS honey
Grind up peanuts in a blender or food processor. Add oil and honey. Blend again. Add more oil in 1 tsp amounts if peanut butter needs thinning.
Eat and enjoy!
If anyone does try it, let me know how you liked it! :)

Dang It!

My night life (wasting time on internet, tidying up, watching Star Trek, etc) has been disrupted due to Carl and his desire to watch "Paranormal Activity" (a scary show, obviously). I tried not to pay attention, but I was sitting on the couch, and well, you know the rest. Got sucked in. . . Now I have to go to bed when Carl goes to bed for at least 3 days.

Dang it!

:(
Well, at least the Kidlets night life will be totally undisrupted and filled with
the usual, that is: all nighters, crazy drinking and wild parties.
:) . . . or . . . :( ?

*Oh, and Angie&Mom, I fixed the blog header. Better?*

Fun Stuff

What you see above is my first attempt at using photoshop to make a custom blog header. I like how it turned out. It's nothing impressive, of course. And I still have a long way to go before I really know what I am doing.

However,

I think I'm gonna like it . . .

. . . some 2010 goals . . . (10, to be exact)

1. Read one high quality book a month. (these books chosen can be read for pleasure, but they have to require more thought and have more substance to them than Meg Cabot books! I love reading these books even though they are really lame and cliche. They are my guilty pleasure.)

2. Read my camera manual.

3. Take a Digital Photography course.

4. Take at least 2 independant study courses.

5. Start a Budget, no matter how small.

6. Start a Savings Account, no matter how miniscule. :)

7. Do one anonymous act of kindness a week.

8. Read on Shakespear play (or other mind enriching literature) a month.

9. Write in Journal every Sunday.

10. Spend no more than 1 hour of time on internet every day.

I will refine this list later, when I am feeling a bit more refreshed and able to think harder. I want to have clearly defined goals that I will keep because they are important to me. And thus this is draft one. Draft two and a Christmas post will be for another night. . . sigh and *yawn*. Good night.

:)
