My Dream

I have a dream. Well, okay, I have several. But one of them, the one which I want to address is to sing The Queen of the Night aria from The Magic Flute by Mozart someday. That would be awesome . . . The lady in this video, Diana Damrau, is amazing. Whenever I hear her sing this aria, it makes me want to buckle down and start singing hard and practicing every day again. I know that isn't very realistic right now. I just can't do that at this time in my life! It takes years of work plus extreme talent and ability to do this! Anyway, copy and paste this link to see the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2ODfuMMyss You will be blown away!

On to other things . . .

We went to the Dr. Suess activity at the Library today, and it was fun, mostly. Okay, so it wasn't that much fun for me. Why? Because I took both kids by myself and it was friggin' crowded!!! There were waaay too many people there, plus they started late and we got there on time (for once). So I had to hold Kenny and Lexi (so that she could see) for too long. And then we had to sit through a reading of Green Eggs and Ham. I don't have any objection to this normally, but since they started late and my kids were getting antsy, I wasn't too excited about it. And then Kenny wanted to throw every book he could see on the floor. But when I wouldn't let him, he became very offended and mad! Lexi didn't like all the people around either and she didn't want to have anything to do with the Thing 1 and Thing 2 that came to visit! Oh well, at least she got a few goodies to take home after it.

I also had a little cardmaking get together today, and it was fun. I have a dirty little secret to confess to, though. When I have company over and just can't find to time to do my dishes, I hide them under my sink! Am I a loon, or what? Does that just make you cringe? ha ha ha!

And last, but not least. More pictures! Yay!

(Lexi wasn't too keen on wearing the hat.)

(But she still had fun.)

I am reminded of Wierd Al's "White and Nerdy" song. I like to button up the top button sonmetimes. Ha ha!
But still dashingly handsome, so no matter!

You are definately not alone... I too, on several desperate occasions, have hidden my dishes when company is coming and there is simply no time. My husband has put them in the oven a couple of times, which is an odd hiding place if you ask me. Not only that, but when I then go to heat the oven up later not knowing that there are dirty dishes in there, I always have a funky smelling surprise awaiting! Fortunately, he has never put tupperwear in there... at least not yet.
And the singing dream reminded me of what a divine voice you have! I miss hearing you sing.

I wish that you will post a video of you singing. I remember you had a beautiful voice, and I want to hear it again!

I know exactly how stressful it is to be in a crowded public place having your kids being not so cooperative. I love the photos...my favorite is the "white and nerdy" of Kenny...Parker's favorite is Kenny on Carl's head. I just love all of your photos...when are you coming to Spokane to do our family photo?? :)

I think you should post the dirty dishes under the sink. I love that idea.
