My Dream

I have a dream. Well, okay, I have several. But one of them, the one which I want to address is to sing The Queen of the Night aria from The Magic Flute by Mozart someday. That would be awesome . . . The lady in this video, Diana Damrau, is amazing. Whenever I hear her sing this aria, it makes me want to buckle down and start singing hard and practicing every day again. I know that isn't very realistic right now. I just can't do that at this time in my life! It takes years of work plus extreme talent and ability to do this! Anyway, copy and paste this link to see the video: You will be blown away!

On to other things . . .

We went to the Dr. Suess activity at the Library today, and it was fun, mostly. Okay, so it wasn't that much fun for me. Why? Because I took both kids by myself and it was friggin' crowded!!! There were waaay too many people there, plus they started late and we got there on time (for once). So I had to hold Kenny and Lexi (so that she could see) for too long. And then we had to sit through a reading of Green Eggs and Ham. I don't have any objection to this normally, but since they started late and my kids were getting antsy, I wasn't too excited about it. And then Kenny wanted to throw every book he could see on the floor. But when I wouldn't let him, he became very offended and mad! Lexi didn't like all the people around either and she didn't want to have anything to do with the Thing 1 and Thing 2 that came to visit! Oh well, at least she got a few goodies to take home after it.

I also had a little cardmaking get together today, and it was fun. I have a dirty little secret to confess to, though. When I have company over and just can't find to time to do my dishes, I hide them under my sink! Am I a loon, or what? Does that just make you cringe? ha ha ha!

And last, but not least. More pictures! Yay!

Cat in the Hat activity pix . . .

(Lexi wasn't too keen on wearing the hat.)

(But she still had fun.)

The "I want the camera" face

I am reminded of Wierd Al's "White and Nerdy" song. I like to button up the top button sonmetimes. Ha ha!
But still dashingly handsome, so no matter!

Lexi Art (and Mommy art too!)

Lexi, my sweet.

Lexi drew this the other day, and I was impressed. Maybe it isn't all that impressive after all, but I think it is great.

Here is Kenny being his cute-as-a-button self!

(I just wish the pix was clearer)

The other night I found this cute scene when I went in to check on the kids.

And I am ridiculously proud of this cupcake cookie jar I painted,so I want to show it off.
(Be sure to encourage my vanity and tell me how awesome it is! haha :) )

(I know the pix kinda stinks)

Blah blah blah, yakity-shmakity. What am I gonna post today? Well, I need to post a video for Mother-Dear and family of Kenny getting his B-day present. Or maybe I should say, Lexi getting it. You decide . . .

You know, it's kinda hard to hold the camera and try to finagle the Doggy-Woggy out of Lexi's grasp at the same time. So, sorry for the poorly done video. I still think it is pretty funny!!! :)

Lexi Says . . .

Our computer is out, so I have been without internet for 3 days. (I am at the school) I don't want to be long so I will just share some humor with a few Quotable Lexi Quotes!

# 1. I had a 'lishus dinner. I had a tarrot and a bloccoli!

# 2. I'm feeling kinda sad. See, it says in my story, "Lexi is sad." (Super Why, anyone?)

# 3. I have a sad face. Don't look at it. It's beautiful, but you can't look at it.

# 4. Don't mess up with me! (She better say this to future boyfriends!)

# 5. I have a bubble in my bum. (?)

# 6. It's as yummy as can be!

# 7. Kenny can't mess up with my toys 'cause they's fragile!

# 8. I have a burp/yawn in my mouf.

# 9. I have bloodness! (after her finger got hurt and bled)

# 10. I say to her, "You stink!" and she replies, "No, I'm not stink. Kenny stink."

I think I will be periodically adding to this post as she says other funny things. And there surely will be more to come.

Kenny's Birthday

Wow. Kenny, my little Plumpy, just turned 1 today. What a year. A year that came and went too fast. It almost doesn't seem real that he is already 1. Soon he won't be my baby boy anymore! My children are growing up fast, and sometimes it seems faster than it should be. One day I am going to wake up and realize that my kids are teenagers. And then next thing I know they will be in college, then getting married, and then having children of their own and moving away. And before I know it they will be living their own lives. But that seems preposterous now. How could these sweet little ones who are mine and need me move away and take care of themselves?

Anyhoo . . . back to Kenny and his Birthday. Pictures should explain it well. Plus, a highlight on my little man.
